After the success of the Rollei 35 as a result of the launch at the Photokina as the smallest existing 135 film camera, in 1966. Rollei started studying the possibilities to launch a high quality entry-level model. In 1969 Rollei launched the Rollei B 35, with Zeiss Triotar lens, a three element 3.5/40mm lens. The "B" was added because the camera used a light meter "Belichtungsmesser" in German. A great piece even after almost half a century.
